Lindsay Lehman, Registered Provisional Psychologist in Edmonton
Lindsay Lehman is a registered provisional psychologist in Alberta and a therapist at Mendable Psychology. She works with individual adults to address anxiety, stress and burnout, and navigating life transitions.
“Together, we can connect with your strengths, deepen self-compassion, and develop greater clarity about what you need and where you want to go.”
You can be highly self-aware and still feel trapped by anxiety, perfectionism, relationship patterns, or the impacts of difficult experiences. Maybe you don’t need another coping strategy. Maybe you need a different relationship with what’s happening inside of you. Many people come to therapy not because they lack insight, but because insight alone hasn’t created the change they’re looking for. They’ve spent years trying to think their way out of anxiety, shame, self-doubt, relationship challenges, or emotional overwhelm. Therapy offers another way.
The way you think, feel, and respond makes sense when we consider your past experiences. Sometimes, though, patterns that once served you no longer fit your life. Together, we can explore what’s beneath these patterns, understand what they’re communicating, and create more room for choice, connection, and lasting change.
My approach is warm, collaborative, and trauma-informed. I draw from EMDR, Internal Family Systems-informed, attachment, and cognitive approaches, adapting our work to what feels most helpful for you.

FAQ: therapy with Lindsay
What is your favourite therapy approach to use with clients?
I have a hard time choosing just one! I love using an Internal Family Systems (IFS)-informed approach because it invites us to connect with different parts of your experiences, building self-compassion as we begin to understand what these parts may be trying to communicate. I also really enjoy Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and the way it can help us work with multiple aspects of your experience that continue to feel “stuck” (e.g., emotions, body sensations, self-talk, and beliefs). Other times, integrating a Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT) approach can be impactful, as we navigate the balance between change with self-acceptance. Ultimately, I don’t believe therapy should be one-size-fits-all and what matters most is finding what resonates with each client. I draw from different approaches and adapt our work to what feels most useful for you.
What can I expect from a session with you?
I want therapy to feel like a space where you can be yourself and feel fully accepted—not a place where you have to say the “right” things or have everything figured out. Sessions are collaborative, and I’ll follow what feels important to you while also offering questions, reflections, and new perspectives to help us explore more deeply. Sometimes that means we might talk about your experiences, check in on what sensations are coming up in your body, explore your personal, familial or intergenerational patterns, look at cultural and societal factors impacting you, and sometimes, we might even laugh at the absurdity of being human. My hope is that you leave feeling understood, with a little more clarity about yourself and what you need.
What advice would you give someone who is considering therapy?
I would say, you don’t need to know exactly what you need from therapy before you start. Sometimes, figuring that out together is part of the process! I would encourage you to find a therapist that you feel comfortable being honest with, and who seems genuinely interested in exploring and understanding all the different parts of you. Therapy can involve vulnerability, so having a sense of safety and trust with your therapist matters. And if the first or second therapist you try doesn’t feel like the right fit, that doesn’t mean therapy isn’t for you—it may just mean you haven’t found your person yet.
