Natalie Mereniuk, Registered Provisional Psychologist

Natalie is a registered provisional psychologist in Alberta and a therapist at Mendable Psychology.  She offers individual adult counselling both in-person at our west Edmonton office and online across Alberta

I feel a tremendous amount of gratitude to be able to support other individuals as we navigating the ebbs and flow of life’s challenges and celebrations.

I aim to cultivate a space where clients can feel safe to become more present and feel more connected to the people and the environment around them. Seeking support, such as therapy, is a reminder that we don’t have to navigate these challenges alone. I walk alongside clients during these times, collaboratively creating strategies to navigate hurdles and enhance their sense of readiness for whatever comes their way, fostering joy in their daily lives.

I believe it is important for people to feel seen and heard, while showing up as their authentic selves in the therapeutic space. This is why central to my philosophy is empowerment, emphasizing the achievement of balance and holistic wellness. Grounded in ethics of respect and autonomy, my practice provides a trauma-informed, non-judgmental space. The therapeutic relationship serves as a catalyst for self-discovery, resilience, and growth.

I am experienced in addressing various client concerns, some of my areas of interest include supporting individuals of all genders (LGBTQ+2S) and all abilities (all neurodiversities) with anxiety, stress, burnout, trauma, and boundaries in relationships. I also work with those diagnosed with medical illnesses and chronic pain. While working through these challenges can be intense and emotional, I believe that therapy can also include as much lightheartedness and laughter.

Questions and Answers

Q: What are your hobbies?

A: I love being outdoors hiking, camping, and heading out to the mountains or a lake. Yoga, reading, and dancing are also activities I appreciate. Quality time with friends, family, and my two cats, Charlie and Lulu, brings me immense joy as well.

Q: What is a favorite quote of yours?

A: “What lies behind you and what lies in front of you, pales in comparison to what lies inside of you”
— Ralph Waldo Emerson

Q: What can you expect from a session with me?

A: Every therapy session is uniquely tailored to the client I am supporting, and how they present when they show up to a session. I believe in being flexible and adopting each session to what a client’s needs are both in the moment, as well as with their long-term therapy goals. I hold space for when we are going to difficult places, challenge perspective when I feel is appropriate, and I compliment that with laughter and warmth. Because of my eclectic approach to therapy, the modalities I use from one session to the next may shift to what my experiences and expertise thinks would be best at the time.
