Jessica Grewal, Practicum Student Therapist
Jessica Grewal is a practicum student therapist completing the final stage of her Master’s in Counselling degree. She provides individual adult counselling in our affordable Reduced Rate Therapy Program.
Jessica comes to the field of mental health with a background in community outreach and crisis intervention and has a special interest in working with individuals dealing with developmental trauma, family conflict, and 20s to 30s life transitions.
I believe that clients are the experts in their lives, and that feeling better is truly possible when we have a witness to our story, and a space to be seen and heard.
My goal is to create a warm, welcoming space where you can feel safe to explore your thoughts and emotions, where you can begin to feel more connected to yourself and the world around you. Feeling truly seen and heard is essential in our sessions, and I am so grateful to be on this journey with you. I hope to put you at ease with my warm, light-hearted style, allowing you to share your story openly and authentically. My approach emphasizes empowerment, providing a trauma-informed, non-judgmental environment where resilience and growth can flourish.
I embrace a trauma-informed, client-centered, and collaborative approach to therapy. I am particularly passionate about working with clients from all backgrounds through traumatic experiences, complex family dynamics, anxiety, burnout and life transitions including breakups and friendships. I am dedicated to helping you navigate your unique journey and while this process may at times feel overwhelming, we can also create a space to make room for healing, joy, and change.
Under the supervision of a Registered Psychologist, I hope to assure you that you are in good hands. If you feel inclined, I invite you to reach out and book consultation so you can decide if this is the right for you. Let’s begin this journey together and discover the strength and resilience that lies within you. I look forward to the possibility of working with you!

Questions and Answers
Q: What are your favourite therapy approaches to use with clients?
A: Although I am still learning and am open to exploring a wide variety of approaches, I have loved learning about and integrating ACT. ACT allows individuals to acknowledge and validate their experiences, while also allowing themselves the opportunity to move forward. I especially appreciate the use of somatic, mindfulness exercises to process complex emotions and experiences.
Q: Share an interesting fact about yourself
A: I love being active and enjoy a wide variety of workouts and outdoor activities. In January 2022, I competed in a powerlifting competition!
Q: How do I know who is the right therapist for me?
A: Successful therapy depends a lot on the therapeutic alliance and the right therapeutic approach for you. I would recommend looking up different approaches, what they mean and how they are used in the therapeutic process. I would also encourage you to go with your gut based on someone who speaks to you. I hope that as you read this, you feel inclined to reach out to me, but if not, I truly hope that you continue your journey to find the right fit for you!
